Things to do in Williamstown

In the Northwest corner of Massachusetts, Williamstown sits on the Hoosic River at the base of Mount Prospect and Mount Greylock. The Hoosic River, along with its tributary, the Green River, are cold water fisheries that attract anglers to fish for native and stocked rainbow and brown trout. Several conservation-minded organizations call Williamstown home; the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation and Hoosic River Watershed Alliance both work to connect people with the town’s rivers and open spaces. Williamstown has some of the most iconic views in Berkshire County, with Mount Greylock’s Hopper featuring prominently. Along the Roaring Brook Trail, the Mount Greylock Ski Club is a member-supported cooperative that features a unique rope tow. Trails within the town provide access to the Mount Greylock State Reservation, Hopkins Memorial Forest, Pine Cobble, and the new Mohawk multi-use trail along the Hoosic River. A little more than 1 mile of the Appalachian Trail passes through the community.
