Things to do in Hancock

Hancock spreads north to south, sharing borders with Richmond, Pittsfield, Lanesborough, New Ashford, and Williamstown. Much of the town is state land, primarily the Pittsfield State Forest. Misery Mountain Wildlife Area sits along the Taconic ridgeline west of Route 43. The 649-acre site is on steeply sloped terrain and is open to hunting and provides habitat for black bears and white-tail deer. The Taconic Crest Trail transits through the property connecting the northern and southern parts of town. Jiminy Peak ski area has 167 skiable acres and a vertical drop of 1,150 feet, with night skiing on 25 trails. Summer activities include lift-served intermediate and advanced mountain biking, a mountain coaster, an alpine slide, and many others, all for a variety of daily rates. Nearby, Ramblewild Adventure Park features 8 aerial trails with 4 difficulty levels on 1,500 acres. Every climber can choose how far they will push themselves through the series of elements, including bridges, ladders, rope swings, cargo nets, and zip lines - some featuring skateboards and sea kayaks!
