Things to do in Clarksburg
The northernmost town in Berkshire County, bordering Pownal and Stamford, Vermont, the town of Clarksburg is known for Clarksburg State Park and Mauserts Pond. Clarksburg State Park and Clarksburg State Forest comprise more than 4,000 acres in the town. The Appalachian Trail and the terminus of the Long Trail (a 272-mile trail from the Vermont to Canadian borders) pass through the town for about 2.5 miles. Near to Natural Bridge State Park, the town is a popular tourist destination for camping, picnicking, and exploring the region, including the North Branch of the Hoosac River. Route 8 connects the county to Vermont and the nearby Mount Snow Ski Area.
